Why correct processing of personal data is so important? Surely, not only because of the unfamous "GDPR penalties". Also other risks must not be ignored, such as:
- a lawsuit lodged by someone who thinks that his/her privacy was violated by you;
- criminal liability for illegal processing of personal data;
- an order to stop personal data processing, issued by the President of the Personal Data Protection Office;
- and finally, the loss of customers' trust when they learn that you process personal data in violation of the law.
GDPR must not be reduced to a cliché paperwork. GDPR should be aproached from the perspective of personal data processing activities, identification of links between them and designing them in compliance with the law. GDPR includes audits, risk analysis, proper documentation, personnel trainings, respecting of data processing minimization principle, legality of data processing and accountability regarding your compliance with your legal obligations in daily operations of your business. GDPR also includes the principle of privacy by design and its implementation in a way which does not interfere with your business.
